522 to 13

13 is unlucky for some. Certainly unlucky for the 13 that voted against a snap General Election in parliament today.

In 50 days time we will be asked to vote for our leaders. Public divisions are cut between parties, between Brexiteers and Remainers, between wanting an election and opposing the idea.

It is hard to trust what the media write - a lot of right wing bias in the print media and then the Twitter bubble that can mislead you into thinking everyone thinks the same as you but that's only because you chose who to follow. And we make those decisions based on our own interests.

Everyone blames Jeremy Corbyn whose leadership divided his own party. And Theresa May, current PM is being made out to be a liar because she guaranteed no early elections. And everyone is asking who the blinking heck Tim Farron is (if I have even got his name right?).

It's easy to sit back and feel like a conservative victory is pretty much a given. Yet I have felt the urge this time around  to be more political! I have joined the Labour Party and I am writing this blog to organise my pre-election thoughts.

At the moment, I feel like we could all do with a rest from elections and referendums.
But hey, what do I know?
